vive le tour

For many years ive come to work each July totally spaced from being up late watching the Tour. Im not much of a bike racing fan, but man i love this event. Hands down the best sporting event ever. Olympics?? Meh. AFL? Blah. NRL? Pfft! The only thing that can compare to the Tour was when the Illawarra Steelers – led by the mighty Rocket Rod Wishart - made it to the semi finals in 1992.

Yeah so anyway i really enjoy watching the race. Awesome scenery in the countryside and those mountain stages through the Pyrenees are b.tchin. I also like Gabriel Gate’s cooking lessons from each region of the Tour before each nights SBS broadcast. Last year i watched the finale in Paris, France live from Kensington, Australia and said “fcuk it – im so going to be there next year” And today i did.

Good story here on the delayed start http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/tdf2010/news/story?id=5408206 Great initiative from the man, damn those rules but. 28 million is 28 million too many.
