whiskey in the jar / the boys are back in town / jailbreak

Ireland. November. 2010

Phil Lynott statue.

Awesome

Ive seen a lot of memorials and statues on the trip since i left Australia. Especially in Europe. Some are awesome. Many suck. Im all about the celebrate the life rather than be morbid over the death. So for that reason alone i hate seeing memorials and stuff that just plain suck. Totally refused to go to the Jim Morrison one in Paris. But this one is so not the suck. Phils there holding his bass guitar checking out the scene (in reality he’d be choosing a groupie if he were still amongst us). Like i said and often say – awesome.

Man when I tell you she was cool, she was red hot

I mean she was steaming

as i was going over the cork and kerry mountains

Ireland. November. 2010

Post Europe / Pre Morocco i had a week to kill, so took the advice of the Irish amongst you to go check it out. And it was really cool. 5 pound flight there and 10 pound back. Awesome!

Landed in Dublin and saw the sights around the main part of town. Got hammered majorly that night – no Guiness or Irish Whisky though - i hit the iced teas kinda hard that night. Then realised there wasn’t much else to do besides the U2 sights around Dublin (a separate update will cover that). So i hired a car and drove 1000km return to go see some cliffs and then pay 15 euro to kiss some stone and then go back to Dublin. All that stuff was ok but the countryside there on the drive Dublin to Galway to wherever that Blarney stone thing was and then back to Dublin was just beautiful. Think the Southern Highlands of New South Wales or the high country in Victoria for those from my country of origin. Really cool. Made a KILLER mix tape that was about 18hrs long to cover me on the 10ish hr drive. Id send the mix list to you all but i donated it to Andrew via snail mail when i left.

Ireland is fcukin amazing. Ill be back.
