you miss too much these days if you stop to think

Total U2 MERD (Music nERD) day last Saturday in Berlin

I took the U2 line on the S-Bahn to get to a 3rd Reich Tour that started at Zoologischer Garten (Zoo Garden – one of their best songs ever.) Saw the Berlin Victory Column (from the Stay, Faraway So Close video) from the train on another leg of the journey around the city. Then found that Hansa Studios is right near me – for the uninitiated / ignorant, Achtung Baby was recorded there.

But heres the best part. I rented a Trabant (Trabi) and drove right along the only free standing part of the Berlin Wall in the city, past Checkpoint Charlie and also from the old East Berlin to the old West Berlin. Sh.t car, great fun. Kept thinking of the Zoo TV era bootlegs i have when these things were lighting rigs. AWESOME! Put a brief 10sec video on my YouTube page. http://www.youtube.com/user/backpackipodme

All day i listened to Achtung Baby as well.
